Cipollari is a bluegrass family band from the heart of Alabama — six of eleven siblings in a tight-knit family of thirteen, with roots that run half-Brazilian and half-Cajun — and dual U.S.–Brazilian citizenship. Formed in 2017, they were raised singing and picking together, and they write and arrange their own music as a family — blending traditional bluegrass instrumentation with a deep and growing catalog of originals.
Versatile by nature, the siblings draw on influences from a range of cultures and the artists who inspire them, weaving those colors into their bluegrass foundation. Formerly known as the Cotton Pickin' Kids — new name, same sound — they've grown into one of the most-followed young acts in the genre and shared stages across the Southeast, bringing a fresh, magnetic energy to one of America's most enduring musical traditions. And the family sound keeps growing — the five younger siblings are coming up on their own instruments, the next wave of Cipollari.
The Cipollaris have turned a family tradition into a genuine online phenomenon — a combined audience of more than 600,000 across Facebook (295K), YouTube (200K+), Instagram (110K), and TikTok. Their most popular bluegrass covers alone — Foggy Mountain Breakdown, Rocky Top, I'll Fly Away, and Dueling Banjos — have drawn over 17 million views, with a deep library of covers and originals beyond them. They host a weekly podcast and stream live to fans on Patreon. In a career highlight, country legend Randy Travis and his wife Mary personally asked the band to record a bluegrass cover of his classic "Forever & Ever, Amen" — and, over the moon with the result, shared it with their audience. The legendary Dillards were likewise full of praise and amazement at the band's cover of their classic "There Is a Time."
The family writes and arranges together, with a catalog that includes My Sweet Home, God Chose You, Never Play with the Heart, Harvest Fair, August Eight, Gumball Machine, and Best at Hurting Me — plus original instrumentals: Slemish Mountain, Northern Lights, and Alabama Tornado.
